So it has been awhile since I last made a post. The past month and a half has been fun, exciting and down right scary.
In March we took a family trip to visit our family and friends back in Alabama. Of course I didn’t get to see everyone I wanted to see and you would think being there for a week you could, but there never seems to be enough time. Hopefully this summer we can plan another trip and visit with friends we didn’t get to see in March. While we were in Birmingham, Mary Margaret, my oldest turned 10 so we did get to have a wonderful birthday party get together with all the family. My brother and his wife Kat got to come with their precious little girl Madaliene…I’m still wanting to petition the court for custody…lol..jk. I have 2 sweet precious girls of my own.
The scary part happened just a couple of weeks ago. Marc ended up in the hospital in ICUwith pancreatitis. He was in a regular room Monday but Monday night he called me and said he had a severe allergic reaction to some nausea medicine. So needless to say that gave him an automatic trip to ICU. Thank God he is alright and nothing tragic happened. A couple of days later he told some of his co-workers that I was mad because I could have been a millionare but the nurses saved him. WHATEVER!!! He was lucky I didn’t kill then. But as I said, he is doing much better, he just needs to watch what he eats for the next few weeks, nothing heavy or with to much protein.
He did get clearance to ride in a bike race that Sunday. He came home Friday afternoon and that Sunday he rode. My friend Kristina was up and she stayed an extra day/night with me. That helped to keep my mind off it. She was coming up anyway and just happened that Marc got sick.
I saw the cutest table decor the other day at my daughter’s school. It was volunteer appreciation day and they had a picnic theme. I’m going to have to make these and take a picture to show you. But here is the jest of it. They made ants for the table. It looked like they took about 8-10 raisins and ran a toothpick thru them. Then broke off some more toothpicks to make the legs. It was the cutest thing ever. Now how come I can’t come up with something like that…oh yeah, I’m not the creative type. For the placemats they used black construction paper and drew ants on them using white chalk or crayons and glued a “paper napkin” using decorative paper, they cut that into triangles. We had fried chicken, baked beans and potato salad, yum, yum. For dessert we had a delicious chocolate cake.
